RMB: Can you give us an overview of your role at RMB?
Mary Beth Talhami: I am a Marketing Associate based in RMB’s Chicago office. I manage client events and associated communication campaigns. I’m also responsible for sourcing and managing RMB SWAG and merchandise, and I jump in on other marketing initiatives as needed. Additionally, I support HR with their on boarding efforts.
RMB: What does a typical workday look like in your role?
MBT: There is no typical workday and no two days are the same, which I thrive on! I start my day checking my email and calendar - my work is extremely deadline driven and take it from there.
RMB: Tell us about the education and career path that brought you here.
MBT: I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communications and MFA in Art History from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I began my career at Chicago Magazine before jumping over to the corporate side. I started at RMB Capital in 2019. Prior to that, I worked at Medline Industries, Underwriter's Laboratories, Abbott Molecular and Pivot Point International.
RMB: What keeps you busy outside of work?
MBT: Outside of RMB, I enjoy cooking, entertaining, and spending time with family and friends. I have an eclectic playlist and music is always playing. I have two dogs who never fail to make me smile. I'm a huge sports fan but favor the North Side. I also love anything to do with water: skiing, sailing, jet-skiing. I’ve traveled extensively for business and pleasure, both domestically and internationally, and I relish the memories I made along the way—however I’m always happy to return home to Chicago, the prettiest city and lakefront.
RMB: Is there something that you’re especially passionate about in life?
MBT: Family, friends, and faith is my trifecta! Everything else falls in place. I’m active in JDRF and the ADA, always hopeful for a cure for Type 1 diabetes. I also support my family, who are heavily involved in the Alliance for the Great Lakes protecting and sustaining our precious resources.
RMB: What makes you most proud to work at RMB?
MBT: The people! I interact with team members from all of our RMB offices and it's a pleasure. I consider myself lucky to be able to travel to various events hosted by regional offices, meet our clients, and watch the RMB team in action. The relationships that have been cultivated and nurtured with clients, along with the respect and gratitude they convey, are a testament to RMB. RMB promotes a professional, supportive and genuine culture, which I am truly grateful for and proud to be a part of.
