RMB Capital SMID Cap Core Strategy Named to “PSN Top Guns” List for Q2 2022

RMB Capital proudly announced that its SMID Cap Core equity strategy was recognized by Zephyr PSN’s “Top Guns List” for the second quarter of 2022. The list honors the best performing separate accounts, managed accounts and managed ETF strategies represented on its platform during the time period.

The list is an important reference for investors and asset managers. More than 2,800 firms, 285 investment universes and 21,000 investment products are represented in the PSN database.  RMB Capital’s SMID Cap Core strategy was honored in six categories across its Mid Cap Universe, Mid Core Equity Universe and Small-Mid Cap Universe, receiving two six-star ratings, two five-star ratings, one four-star rating and one “Bull & Bear Masters” rating. RMB’s SMID Cap Core strategy is managed by RMB senior vice president and portfolio manager Chris Faber.

Through a combination PSN’s proprietary performance screens, the PSN Top Guns List ranks investment products in six proprietary categories in over 75 universes based on continued performance over time. The ratings categories where RMB’s SMID Cap Core strategy were recognized are detailed as follows:

4-Star Ratings Category (Mid Core Equity Universe) had an r-squared of 0.80 or greater relative to the style benchmark for the recent five-year period. Moreover, the strategy’s returns exceeded the style benchmark for the three latest three-year rolling periods. The top ten returns for the latest three-year period then become the 4 Star Top Guns. 

5-Star Ratings Category (Small-Mid Cap Universe, Mid-Cap Universe) had an r-squared of 0.80 or greater relative to the style benchmark for the recent five-year period. Moreover, the strategy’s returns exceeded the style benchmark for the three latest three-year rolling periods. Products are then selected which have a standard deviation for the five-year period equal or less than the median standard deviation for the peer group. The top ten returns for the latest three-year period then become the 5 Star Top Guns. 

6-Star Ratings Category (Small-Mid Cap Universe, Mid-Cap Universe) had an r-squared of 0.80 or greater relative to the style benchmark for the recent five-year period. Moreover, the strategy’s returns exceeded the style benchmark for the three latest three-year rolling periods. Products are then selected which have a standard deviation for the five-year period equal or less than the median standard deviation for the peer group. The top ten information ratios for the latest five-year period then become the 6 Star Top Guns. 

Bull & Bear Masters Ratings Category (Mid Core Equity Universe) had an r-squared of 0.80 or greater relative to the style benchmark for a three-year period. Moreover, the strategy had an upside market capture over 100 and a downside market capture less than 100 relative to the style benchmark. The top ten ratios of Upside Capture Ratio over Downside Capture Ratio become the PSN Bull & Bear Masters.
